The wedding ceremony
Sylvan Glen has two delightful options for a garden ceremony....
The orchard
Our 100-year-old fruit trees form an arch over a gravel isle that leads to an arbour decorated in vines and flowers, overlooking the golf course valley views of lush grass and majestic gum trees.
There is plenty of room for guests to sit on white wedding chairs or stand to enjoy the proceedings. It’s a great place for photos and pre-dinner canapés.
The front lawn
Set opposite our heritage listed guesthouse, amongst large specimen trees, the park like setting creates a feeling of space and is ideal if the bridal party wish to arrive by wedding cars or horse drawn carriage.
The Reception
Our reception room is located at the edge of the golf course, giving spectacular panoramic views from the deck, with large open windows and a sophisticated yet relaxed feel.
With a number of options for room configuration, we can cater for up to 140 guests plus room to dance and party, or find a quiet place to contemplate or catch up. The permanent marquee provides more options for a dance floor and is our indoor area for ceremonies should the weather change. Fairy lights in the roof make a dramatic entrance as guests head for the marquee to tuck in to the sumptuous buffet. From here they can overlook the fountain in the decorative pool.
At Sylvan Glen, we have created a bar and dance floor without the added bill of premium alcohol prices. If planning a wedding with a drinks list, we give you the freedom to set your own budget and beer and wine selection, yet serve you and your guests in a professional way in a stylish wine bar environment. Our ‘BYO’ approach always goes down well and the guests never need know!
On and off site Accommodation
Sylvan Glen can accommodate up to 32 adults on site and currently has 14 tasteful rooms including the main guesthouse with seven en suite rooms, Conway cottage with 3 king/twin share en suite rooms, and the bridal suite with antique four-poster bed, fireplace and air-conditioning, and 3 double budget rooms with shared facilities.
Tariffs include the option of two or more night’s accommodation as well as a discount applicable only to wedding guests. Usually, accommodation is taken by the bridal party’s nearest family and friends, but that’s up to the bride and groom to decide!
Taking the accommodation is not a prerequisite for holding a wedding at Sylvan Glen but it will ensure your exclusive use of the whole property.
Once Sylvan Glen is full, nearby Bundanoon lies just 10 minutes away – a larger village with a hotel, motel and several guesthouses and B&B’s. Sylvan Glen prefers these accommodation houses in Bundanoon in the Southern highlands; Bundanoon Hotel, Bundanoon Country Inn, Idle-a-wile Guesthouse Mildenhall guesthouse, Tree tops Guesthouse, Yallambee B&B.
