The Guesthouse

At the heart of Sylvan Glen is the most delightful Southern Highlands accommodation – a heritage guesthouse built in the 1870s, fully updated with all its charm intact.

When you book your wedding or conference at Sylvan Glen, the house is yours exclusively. You and your guests can relax in total privacy.

The guesthouse features 15 ensuite rooms, each heated and lovingly decorated. Some rooms have additional beds, bringing the total occupancy at Sylvan Glen to 42 people if required. For conferences, up to 32 people can be accommodated including twin-shares.

A full dining area leads onto an outdoor terrace, BBQ area and pizza oven looking over the property. Our suggestion? How about make-your-own pizza masterchef challenge while the sun sets, then get cosy inside with a glass of wine and a hosted trivia night.

Scribbly Cottage

Set in a private 5 acre corner of the Sylvan Glen Country Estate, Scribbly Cottage sits on a ridge between the golf course and a neighbouring vineyard. The 320 sqm house sits surrounded by mature gardens and native Scribbly gum trees and has been thoughtfully designed to provide a high quality and memorable self-contained stay. It is close enough to Sylvan Glen to walk for a game of golf or a coffee but operates separately and both are private from each other.

It’s the perfect venue for families up to 20, golf groups, small conferences, sensible bucks and hens groups and intimate celebrations. The village of Penrose is 1 1/2 hours from either Sydney or Canberra, 10 minutes off the Hume highway and a 30 minute scenic drive to Bowral via Bundanoon and Moss Vale

Golf Course

Our pretty 9 hole golf course was designed to take full advantage of our naturally undulating bushland valley landscape. With water hazards, century old trees, lots of native wildlife and bent grass greens, it’s a great challenge or even just an enjoyable walk. The course is 2000m long with 5 par 3’s, 3 par 4’s and one par 5. It’s one of a select few privately owned courses in Australia and one of the quietest! Memberships are available and social golfers are welcome for play every day except Saturday.

Complimentary play is reserved exclusively for those staying at Sylvan Glen and Scribbly Cottage and their invited guests (additional fees apply) each Saturday.

  • Social play golf and Footgolf fees only $17 per nine holes

Donna and the team at Sylvan Glen were absolutely amazing! It was the only venue we looked at and we fell in love instantly! Donna and the team took away all the stress during the planning period and on our wedding day. They created a stunning reception room that exceeded our expectations. There was so much included in the package and we loved the secluded location. The accommodation and bridal suite was stunning and very comfortable. Would highly recommend to anyone!

We had Our wedding at Sylvan glen yesterday, it was more perfect than we could have imagined. The whole venue is stunning, and although it rained the backup wet weather room is so beautifully setup that we didn’t feel like we were missing out on anything. Donna and all the staff are so lovely and were such a calming influence the whole weekend, they have the whole process so down-pat you literally don’t have to think about a thing on the day. Beautiful relaxed atmosphere.Amazing hosts & staff.You are treated like you are family guests.Delicious food including country fully cooked breakfast,sandwiches & more.There are so many facilities.Tin of biscuits to have with a cup of tea in
the kitchen at the guest house.All heated rooms with ensuites.Supplied toiletries.They have a gilf course you can play golf.Also an amazing barn with a fireplace to hang out!!There is so much more to say!!!Too much!!You gave to see it to believe it!!!A hidden treasure!!Highly recommend.

Our package included everything - catering, bride and groom accommodation, golf cart hire, wedding coordinator, bus to pick up and drop off guests from Bundanoon, equipment hire, etc. Couldn't fault them. It was magical and relaxed. Nothing was too hard. The food for the entire weekend was included. Donna (the owner) was fantastic. The rooms were all decorated differently and the bridal suite was beautiful. Would have liked filtered water available through the weekend though as the water from the taps didn't taste great. I loved having my immediate family with me the entire weekend. The food was plentiful with canapes, entree, main and dessert buffet with tea and coffee on offer and alternate drop. The food was delicious and no one went home hungry. They even made the effort to bring a plate of canapes down to the bridal party whilst we took photos. Everything was great!

A group of us from Sydney have been coming to Sylvan Glen for a Christmas in July weekend for 3 years now. Matt and his team could not be more accomodating and hospitable. They organised an amazing 'Christmas dinner' in their Clubhouse which was amazing. No amount of detail was spared and everyone had a great time. Great job guys, we look forward to seeing you again next year!
